Since 2016, the Hagi-Iwami Airport in Shimane has been the proud home of Asia’s first and only airport apiary
The delicate flavor of the Airport Honey reflects the surrounding natural environment, which includes cherry trees, mikan (satsuma mandarins) and wild radish in the spring, and chestnut and false acacia in the early summer.
Airport Honey has been a hit with locals and was voted Honey of the Year
in the domestic category at the Honey Meister awards in 2017
